Tri-ang Trains and model railways was founded by the brothers George and Joseph Lines toy and model railway makers, Joseph was the pro-active partner of the company G J lines Ltd. Three of Josephs four sons, William, Walter and Arthur Edwin Lines formed Lines Bros Ltd. Three Lines make a triangle, hence the name Tri-ang. Arthurs son, Richard Lines, was largely responsible for the sucess of Tri-ang Trains and Model Railways.
